[Nerwen]

Lily*looks at dagger with some awe and secretly polishes the stone* "And what virtues do the waters of this well hold, Master Snorri?"

[Attalus]

Snorri "It's said that no falsity can stand beneath its waters, Mistress. We shall see what it says about yon blade, then

[Nerwen]

Lily "Falsity?" *Thinks about the rayed star emblem she has around her neck*

[Attalus]

Snorri"Ne'er mind your trinket. What are we to with yon?" *Indicates Daelan* "Half-Orc he is or I'm no judge, and I never heard awt good of such."

[Attalus]

Éothain "i do not know, Master Snorri, but we should perhaps let him speak for himself."

Daelan" I am aware that my appearance is unlike yours, but I may say that those monsters (aye, I mean the word) said much the same. My unhappy mother was a captive and slave of one of yonder corpses, and I shall not make the slightest effort to keep his rotting flesh from the wolves and the crows. He ever treated her ill, and me not better." *He rakes his forelock back to show his slave-mark" "But, I was from a child a sullen and unhandy servant, and when this last eve he came to beat me, I knocked him down and ran off. I suppose to find what I would call my own kind, but you three are the closest I have come. I fear me that without our joining forces we will have no chance pressing forward to the direction you seem to be going, and slight even in all unity."

[Nerwen]

Lily "Well, he did help us out back there. But you are wounded. How much help can you be in an emergency?'

[Attalus]

Daelan*Indicates his side* "This? A mere scratch only. The arrow was deflected by a branch, and it was not poisoned, or I would have been dead some hours. Nay, I can weild my hammer."

Snorri "And if he cannae, such athrwan galoot may help our mule wi' the burden-bearing, aye? Weel, let us be going in any event. I doubt not those orcs had friends, or even just comrades, and I would rather avoid them than meet another such group. It slows us!"

[Nerwen]

Lily"I agree, Master Snorri. Let us be gone and over the next line of hills ere the day ends. And, then, mayhap, our stout Daelan can show me his "scratch" and let me dress it."

[Attalus]

Daelan "As I said,'tis only a scratch." *He opens his tunic to reveal a ripped shirt and a four inch gash upon the skin of the axillary fold, crusted and clotted with blood*

[Nerwen]

Lily *She takes water from the kettle over the campfire and gently washes away the clotted blood, then sutures the cut with her emergency supplies, then binds pads of linen to it* "There you are, Daelan, that should hold you for a few days. I would not get it wet, though"

[Attalus]

*After overnight rest, Daelan gains 10 HP and +1 falling in love wiith Lilyblack
